What is unsecured loan?

An unsecured loan is one of the bank's loan products without collateral assets. The bank lets you get an unsecured loan based on your creditworthiness shown through income verification as well as credit verification.

Unsecured loans can be used for some purposes such as: personal usage, furniture purchase, home renovation, wedding, travel, or pay for other financial consumption needs.

For unsecured loans, the limit of each bank will be different. Loan amount could be up to 15 times of salary. The loan tenor is flexible, vary from 12 months to 60 months. Loan interest rates is dissimilar also. It is calculated based on the borrowed amount as well as your personal financial circumstances.

Eligibility and required documents

Vietnamese citizens who have long-term residence in: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Danang, Hoi An City, Tam Ky (Quang Nam), Hue City (Hue).
Age from 18 to 60.
Monthly net salary from and above VND 8 million with employment of at least 1 year.
Salary paid to a bank account.

Personal Instalment Loan application form (original copy).
ID card (a certified copy or the original ID to be crosschecked at the Bank. The date of issuance of the ID card must not exceed 15 years with identifiable details and photo).
In case the current residence address is the SAME as the address on the household registration book: household registration book (a certified copy or the original copy to be crosschecked at the Bank). If the address is different, the KT3 (a certified copy or the original copy to be crosschecked at the Bank) is required in addition to the temporary residence (original copy with the seal and signature of the local authorities. The date of the certification must not exceed one month).
Employment contract with the signing date of over one year (a certified copy or the original copy to be crosschecked at the Bank), or the certification letter of the applicant's position, employment duration and salary (original).
Bank statement (original) which reflects the salary of the last three months.
The most recent telephone bill of the current residential address (or water supply bill or electricity bill).

The loan amount will be reviewed and approved mainly based on the income, other lending liability and credit history. The loan amount can be up-to VND 900 million. Please contact our Contact Center or visit any HSBC branch or transaction office for further support.

Borrowers may submit a request for loan prepayment (for full settlement only, partial prepayment is not allowed). Subject to the Bank’s approval, Borrower must repay in full the principal plus any accrued interest and fee (if any) in VND on the requesting date. Besides, Borrowers will have to pay an early repayment fee as provided in the credit agreement, on the current outstanding principle.

You can refinance your personal instalment loan with HSBC, on the condition that the existing loan at another bank has not yet undergone any debt rescheduling.

When refinancing with HSBC, the tenor of the to-be-refinanced loan must not exceed the remaining tenor of the existing loan at another bank. For example, if your existing loan maturity date is 1 February 2026, then the maturity date of the new loan at HSBC won’t be after that date.
